The 2015 Phyllis Ehlinger Women of Excellence Award recipient is announced.

February 17, 2015 - AAF Tucson will recognize one of Tucson’s most accomplished local business women with the award named in memory of Tucson's "First Lady of Broadcasting."  Lisa Lovallo, of Cox Communications as been selected to receive the 2015 Phyllis Ehlinger Women of Excellence Award. It will be officially presented at AAF Tucson’s 34th Annual ADDY Awards® event, the “BADDY Awards” on Saturday, March 14, 2015 in the historic Rialto Theatre in downtown Tucson.  

The award recognizes local women business owners or executives who have demonstrated success within their industry, along with a dedication to philanthropy and mentoring. Phyllis Ehlinger was just that. She was the first woman inducted to the Tucson Advertising Hall of Fame when it was established in 1986. She won the prestigious AAF Silver Medal Award in 1983 for her outstanding efforts in the field of advertising and community public service. In 1983, she was the first woman in Tucson recognized as Woman of the Year by AAF District 12. She was inducted into the Arizona Broadcaster’s Association Hall of Fame in 2002. This award keeps Phyllis's spirit alive to continue the tradition of excellence among women.  Previous recipients of this award include Kirstin Block, Carlotta Flores, Rosey Koberlein, Pamela McNair Wingate, Donna Nordin and Kathy Alexander, Robyn Frey, Carol Zimmerman, Dorothy Finley, Fran Katz and Sharmon Woods.

AAF Tucson announces the 2015 AAF Golden Pen Award recipient

February 13, 2015 – AAF Tucson has announced the selection of Arizona Daily Star Columnist, Bonnie Henry as recipient of its 2015 AAF Tucson Golden Pen Award.  The award will be officially presented at AAF Tucson’s 34th Annual ADDY Awards® celebration event, the BADDY Awards on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the historic Rialto Theatre in downtown Tucson.  

The AAF Tucson Golden Pen Award is presented each year to a member of the advertising, public relations or print media fields for his/her contributions to advertising and the Tucson community through the use of words or drawings. The Golden Pen award winner is recognized by the advertising community, as a model for others, an exceptional professional, a leader in their field and as one who gives their time selflessly to the community and our industry.  The AAF Tucson Board of Directors annually accepts nominations for this award. Previous recipients of this award have included John Hudak, Sue Giles, Dave Fitzsimmons, Mary Rowley, David Hatfield, Mary Swiergol, Kevin Madden, Greg Hansen and Steve Rosenberg.

The 2015 AAF Tucson Golden Mic Award Recipient is announced.

February 10, 2015 – AAF Tucson has announced the selection of Kristi Tedesco of KVOA News 4 Tucson as recipient of its 2015 AAF Tucson Golden Mic Award. The award will be officially presented at AAF Tucson’s 34th Annual ADDY Awards® celebration event, the “BADDY Awards” on Saturday, March 14, 2014 at the historic Rialto Theatre in downtown Tucson.

The AAF Tucson Golden Mic award was established to recognize local media personalities who have given selflessly of their time and talent to help raise awareness and contributions for area charities.  The American Advertising Federation Tucson Board of Directors annually accepts nominations for this award.  Previous recipients of the award include Bobby Rich, Guy Atchley, Brian Jeffries, Chuck George, Ed Alexander, Bill Buckmaster, Allen Kath, John C. Scott and Rick Hunter.

AAF Tucson announces the 2015 AAF Silver Medal Award recipient

February 10, 2015 – AAF Tucson has selected retired Pepsi-Cola Marketing & Media Director, Mary Dunkel as its recipient of the 2015 AAF Silver Medal Award. The award will be officially presented at AAF Tucson’s 34th Annual ADDY® Awards celebration event, the “BADDY Awards” on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the historic Rialto Theatre in downtown Tucson.

The Silver Medal Award program was established by the American Advertising Federation (AAF) in 1959 to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry’s standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern.  Annually, local advertising federations bestow this honor upon outstanding leaders in their communities.  Previous Tucson honorees include Jim Arnold, Dave Sitton, Jack Parris, Mary Martin, Rochelle Lang, Rich Moret, David Slavin, Jay Taylor, Art Waller and Richard Rose.
