Arizona State DECA Conference Judges Needed / 02/09/2017 11:16 am


We need volunteers to judge for 
Arizona DECA’s State Conference!!

 



What is it?
 Judges will help judge role plays for students. 

Role plays include a case study in which a student 
is presented with a real world business issue to solve. 

Various students will present their solution to the issue 
and you will judge them using a rubric.

When? 
Either of these two dates and times or both:

Monday, February 27, 2017 (8:00AM-4:00AM with 1 hour catered lunch)
Tuesday, February 28, 2017 (8:00AM-12:00PM with catered lunch)

There will be a coffee/tea/water and snacks provided.

AAF Tucson Award Winners to be honored March 11, 2017 / 01/29/2017 12:00 am

Luck Be An Addy TonightAAF Tucson will honor the local market’s best in creative advertising on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Casino Del Sol Resort during its themed ADDY Awards® celebration, Luck Be An ADDY Tonight.

Winners notifications and invitations are out for the event, which recognizes and showcase the area’s outstanding advertising creative work for the previous year. The event begins at 5 pm with cocktails and a Creative Showcase Gallery display of entries submitted in this year’s competition, followed by dinner and the presentation of awards.

Judges have chosen winners from 326 interactive, digital, broadcast and print entries submitted by local agencies, businesses and individuals from throughout Tucson and Southern Arizona, including university and college students.

Reservation rates for the gala event are currently $85 for AAF Tucson members, $100 for non-members and $70 for Ad2 Tucson members, Emeritus members and students. Tables of 10 are also available for $850 Reservations may be completed and paid for in advance online at aaftucson.org.

The Tucson competition is sponsored by AAF Tucson and Ad2 Tucson, joint member trade associations comprised of local advertising, marketing, public relations and media professionals. Proceeds from the ADDY Awards competition and event help support educational programs, public service projects and proactive government relations efforts of both chapters.

These non-profit trade associations work to enhance the professional development of club members and recognition for the advertising industry while raising funds to support advertising education initiatives and the local community. Judging Sign-Up: TAHSGDC 2017 (ninth annual)
TAHSGDC will take place on Friday February 10th 2017 at the Pima Community College's West Campus (at Speedway & Greasewood) in room CG 03 of the Santa Catalina Building.

• Student-competitions will run from 8:30am - 2pm. 

• Presentations and judging will take place from 2-4:30pm

• Any local professionals who work in a graphic design related field who are willing to volunteer their time are welcome to join for this event. You'll have a chance to network with area creatives, and provide meaningful feedback to the student-designers.

2017 MOST PROMISING MULTICULTURAL STUDENTS CLASS ANNOUNCED / 11/01/2016 12:24 pm
Advertising execs gathered to select 50 high-potential undergraduate seniors for the Most Promising Multicultural Students Program.

WASHINGTON, DC, November 1, 2016—Since its first class in 1997, the Most Promising Multicultural Students Program has had over 850 participants, aiding them in their pursuit of careers within the advertising, media and marketing industries. Most Promising students represent the top of their class and have passionately demonstrated their potential for future success in the industry through internships, leadership activities, community service, innovation and creativity. With alumni holding mid to upper management positions across the country, Most Promising has become a nationally known program for helping organizations find stand-out talent poised to become future leaders.

On Tuesday, October 25, industry professionals representing Arc Worldwide, Bloomberg, Droga5, FCB, fluent360, mcgarrybowen, Momentum Worldwide and Omnicom Health Group gathered at the American Advertising Federation National headquarters to select the 2017 class, adding another 50 outstanding individuals to this impressive pool of talent.

"The Most Promising Multicultural Students Program has become a very reliable source to find top-tier talent. These aspiring students of diverse backgrounds represent the future of marketing and advertising. We look forward to them forging their way, finding their voice and making a mark on our industry,” says Danielle Austen, Managing Partner & CEO, fluent360 and the AAF Mosaic Center Chair.

The program takes place over four days and includes professional development workshops, agency visits and a recruiter’s expo. Leading agencies and companies have utilized Most Promising year over year as a recruitment tool including BBDO, DigitasLBi, Google, Leo Burnett, Omnicom Group, Pepsico, Turner and Wieden+Kennedy, among many others.

Students from AAF’s college chapter network were selected through a vetted application process that included essays, letters of recommendation, resumé and specific academic requirements. With an average GPA of 3.6, this year’s class of students represents 34 schools and 20 states across the country including Alabama, Hawaii and South Dakota.

Tucson Advertising Hall of Fame Announces 3 new inductees & 2016 Next Generation Award Winner / 07/19/2016 5:15 pm

Tucson Advertising Hall of FameThe Tucson Advertising Federation Education Foundation (TAFEF), in conjunction with American Advertising Federation Tucson (AAFT) has announced that Mary Rowley, Jackson Boelts and Rick Rose will be inducted into the Tucson Advertising Hall of Fame.  Additionally, James Patrick has been selected to receive the Next Generation Award.

The Hall of Fame and Next Generation Awards will be presented on Wednesday, September 14, at Vivace Restaurant. Net proceeds from the event will benefit the TAFEF Scholarship Fund, which awards annual scholarships to college students in advertising related fields.

The Hall of Fame seeks to recognize the very best among Southern Arizona marketing and advertising professionals who have led, mentored and inspired others to succeed in this industry, while preserving the legacy of our past and promise of our future through the next generation. 

The Next Generation Award, founded in 2014, recognizes those outstanding advertising individuals, age 40 and younger, who are making a significant impact on the industry through their leadership, career achievements, community contributions and inspiration to others to excel.

The American Advertising Federation Tucson (AAFT) serves as a collaborative hub for a full spectrum of industry experts and brings together today’s leaders and tomorrow’s stars from the fields of advertising, marketing, communications, interactive and media.

Hall of Fame: The Tucson Advertising Hall of Fame Award was founded in 1986 as Tucson’s Advantage to recognize the meaningful contributions of local professionals to the Tucson advertising community and to preserve the legacy of the past and it’s connection to the future.  The initial inductees were members of the original Tucson Ad Club who represented a wide variety of industry disciplines including the media (broadcasting and sales), public relations, marketing, advertising agencies and business. Next Generation Award: The Tucson Next Generation Award was founded in 2014 to recognize those outstanding advertising individuals age 40 and younger who are making a significant impact on the industry through their leadership, career achievements and personal qualities, which also inspire others to excel. Click here for the NextGen nomination form


SELECTION CRITERIA

Nominees to the Advertising Hall of Fame are judged on the following criteria:

Those men and women who have distinguished themselves in their advertising careers, who have contributed to the betterment of advertising and its reputation and who have made significant voluntary efforts outside the workplace, including service to AAFT and/or other similar organizations, as well as service to local non-profit organizations supporting positive causes. AAF Tucson does not require individuals to have retired from the advertising industry prior to nominating/induction into the local Advertising Hall of Fame.

Nominees to the Next Generation Award are judged on the following criteria:

Those individuals who are employed in the advertising industry in the Tucson Market (advertiser, agency media, design or other related fields), who have made measurable career results in their field and who have motivated and inspired others to excel by mentoring, inspiring, training or volunteering.
